Visiting Old Paths Baptist Church
Visiting a new church can often cause stress or raise questions about the church and its atmosphere. Here at Old Paths Baptist Church, it is our desire to make you feel welcomed, loved, and encouraged when you visit us. To help reduce some uncertainty, we have answered some common questions you might have. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have additional questions.
What Are the Services Like?
Every service is focused on the preaching and teaching of God's Word to build a spiritual foundation, encourage growth, and challenge you to a closer walk with Christ. We praise the Lord through traditional hymns and scripture songs. As a congregation, we strive to honor God by singing music that aligns with the doctrinal truths from the Bible.
What Should I Wear?
There is no official dress code for members or guests at Old Paths Baptist Church. We believe in biblical modesty in what we wear. Most will be dressed in traditional Sunday attire, suits and ties for men and modest dresses or skirts for ladies. We strive to have an atmosphere that demonstrates love, respect, and reverence for God that is expressed not only by our conduct but also by our dress.
What Bible is Used?
We use the King James Bible for all of the preaching and teaching. We believe the Word of God to be the Only Authority for our faith and practice. Our members carry their own Bible to each service; however, we do also provide Bibles for those who need them.
What Type of Music Can Be Expected?
We value the traditional old-fashioned hymns of the faith and non-contemporary style of music. We believe that the music is to give honor and glory to God and to uplift believers.
What About Children Ministries?
We provide a nursery for young children that is overseen by trained members who have a heart for God and children. During all the church services, the nursery is provided so that parents can enjoy and focus on the preaching and teaching of God’s Word.
